Ashleigh de la Torre, Vice President of Public Policy at Amazon, has a policy career in D.C. that spans nearly three decades. In her current role, she leads Amazon’s transportation and sustainability legislative and regulatory affairs teams. In this role, she supports Amazon’s U.S. operations, logistics, and delivery businesses – including Amazon Air, Amazon Transportation Services, drone delivery, and maritime shipping – and supply chain and infrastructure issues. She also leads policy engagement on behalf of Amazon’s sustainability efforts and the company’s pledge to be net-zero carbon by 2040. Before joining Amazon in 2015, she led the transportation practice group for a D.C.-based government affairs firm. Prior to that, she represented aircraft and train manufacturer Bombardier. She also worked in government affairs at the National Business Aviation Association and at Airports Council International - North America. She began her career in D.C. on Capitol Hill, serving on the staff of Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS). She holds degrees in political science and journalism from the University of Kansas. She and her husband live on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
