Andrea Mietus is an independent event planner specializing in political and policy-related events who is based in the Washington, DC area and works on projects nationwide and internationally. Known for her ability to foster genuine connections and create authentic experiences, Andrea brings a personal touch to every event she plans.

She built her foundation in event planning as the Democratic Leadership Council’s Director of Planning and Strategic Development from 1992 through 2009. In that role, she managed retreats, conferences, and the organization’s National Conversation, which attracted state and local elected officials. Andrea developed expertise in negotiating event-related contracts, coordinating complex logistics, and addressing security considerations for high-profile political figures. She also managed or staffed events for four Presidential inaugurations and eight Democratic national conventions, demonstrating her ability to navigate high-stakes, high-profile events with grace and professionalism.

Since 2009, Andrea has operated her own event consulting firm, where she continues to combine meticulous planning with her experience to create memorable and moving experiences.

A Political Science graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, Andrea resides in suburban Maryland with her husband, with whom she raised four daughters.
